TeachersHall exists so that no teacher has to do the job alone.

We are a professional community built exclusively for verified educators: a place to talk about the work with the only people who understand it, to get help from someone who taught the same unit last week, and to share the lessons, labs, projects and exams that teachers build on their own time so that one teacher’s work can lighten another’s load.

Why we exist

Teaching is one of the loneliest jobs done in a crowded building. The average American teacher works a 53-hour week, nine hours more than comparable professionals, and spends fewer than two of those hours with other teachers. Eighty-four percent say the school day does not leave enough time for the planning and grading the job requires, so the work follows them home. Every year, hundreds of thousands of teachers sit at kitchen tables building from scratch a lesson that already exists in a classroom down the hall, or in a district three states away. K-12 teaching now carries the highest burnout rate of any profession in the country.

Teachers want to talk about their work. They want to connect with other teachers. They want to be better at the job. What they lack is not the will. It is the room.

The gap we fill

The places teachers gather today were not built for them. Professional networks are built for careers, not classrooms; teachers post there once a year, next to recruiters and vendors. Resource marketplaces sell teachers their own work back, behind paywalls, with no community around it. Facebook groups and forums are where the honest conversation happens, but anyone can be in them, including the parents and administrators the conversation is about, and nothing that is said or shared is kept, credited or findable.

TeachersHall is the missing room: verified at the door so only teachers are inside, free so every teacher can belong, and built around sharing so that experience travels from one classroom to the next with the credit intact.

What we are trying to fix

Isolation. Give every teacher colleagues who teach their subject, their grade and their district, and a staff room that is open after the building closes.

Unpaid, duplicated work. Cut the hours teachers spend building alone by making it easy to find what another teacher already ran, take it, adapt it and pass it on.

Silence. Make it safe to say the true thing about the job, anonymously when it has to be, to people who will understand it.

Attrition. Keep good teachers teaching by making sure that on the worst day of the year they have somewhere to turn that is not the door.

How we hold ourselves to it

Teachers first, always free. Individual teachers never pay. Revenue comes from schools and districts that want their whole staff in the room, and from schools recruiting.

Verified, and only verified. A school email or a reviewed credential, for every account, without exception.

Credit stays with the teacher. Every shared resource carries the name of the teacher who made it, on every copy, forever.

Honest by design. Anonymity is available per post, never per account, so honesty and accountability live in the same place.

Moderated by teachers. Rooms are run by the teachers in them, not by us.

No ads in the feed. Attention here is not for sale.

How we measure success

Hours given back to teachers. Lessons that traveled from one classroom to another. Questions asked at 9 p.m. that had an answer by 9:15. And teachers who stayed in the profession because they finally had colleagues, wherever they taught.
