In this lesson plan, students will categorize the ecosystems services provided by forests into productive, protective, social, and economic benefits. Students will then use the findings of the scientists in Inquiry 3 to compare and contrast different countries’ and regions’ percentages of ecosystem services provided by their forests. Students will also explore the idea of multi-use forests and how the idea of multi-use may impact people’s understanding of forest benefits.
