Forests provide many benefits to people and to the environment. For forests to provide these benefits into the future, however, they must be managed so that they remain healthy and sustainable. Scientists collected data to answer the first four inquiries in this journal; using that information, they wanted to know how well the world’s forests are being managed and whether we’re making progress towards managing the world’s forests sustainably.
